Before I continue on with the photos from my trip, I just wanted to describe a few interesting things that happened while I was on the road. In general I slept well, but found myself waking up much earlier that I normally would on most days. One morning, as I slowly came to consciousness, the image above briefly flashed in front of my minds eye. The background is one of the many scenes of the area, and the black wavy lines appeared to be a grid or matrix of some kind. The matrix was alive with pulsing energy going up and down the black strands like cars traveling on a highway. Right away, my thought was that I was looking at an aspect of the synthetic matrix.
A few days later, at the same time of awakening, a similar image presented itself, only this time, the grid was kind of squashed in the middle, presenting more of a flowing pattern. Again, my distinct impression was that this was a matrix type control mechanism, and that is should not be there at all.
My curiosity was piqued, and I wondered how I could get back to that place again and investigate. These images showed themselves in a millisecond of time, and the key would be to find that particular vibrational level and hover there with conscious intent. Very tricky! That is why I named it the veil for our purposes here. It is a very thin and delicate area with sleep on one side, and waking consciousness on the other.
Out of body travelers may recognize this as the state that they get into right before going out of body, namely "body asleep, mind awake". In their case, it is a state that they pass through and do not linger in. In my case, I would certainly like to experience lingering there to see what that place is all about. If indeed I was looking at an aspect of the synthetic matrix, it has been cleverly hidden at this very fine vibrational level.
We all pass through this vibrational level upon waking or upon going to sleep. In fact, the first night I was home, I fell spontaneously into the "body asleep, mind awake" zone since my body was fatigued from traveling, but my mind was alert with all of the busyness of returning home. The interesting thing was that a mantra started repeating in my consciousness saying something like "I am completely conscious" over and over and over. It also felt like I was leaving my body. Since I have never had an OBE, what came to mind was that this is what it might feel like to die. Or at least the ideal way to die where we maintain consciousness so that we can direct our path away from the tunnel of light and onwards to our chosen destiny, or "home".
What I recommend is that, if you can, allow a few days a week where you do not have to get up at a certain time, and do not set an alarm. Then, train yourself to awaken your consciousness before your body even starts moving around, and do your best to hover in that state. It may turn out that this very fine and delidate zone is actually a portal to another world. Who knows what you might find there!

Dunes
Before my hiking trip officially started on Sunday, I drove further west over to Kanab, Utah so that I could do some hiking at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. This is a delightful area where the dunes are composed of sand that has eroded from the surrounding red rocks. Hiking is allowed in all parts of the park in addition to dune buggies, motor cycles and ATV's. Because of the constant shifting of the sands, eventually all tire tracks and foot prints are erased. Isn't that the way we should be going through life anyway? Walking the beauty way, leaving no footprints?
Since it was a Sunday morning, the motorized activities were in full swing shortly after I arrived. My aim was to find a nice quiet spot to sit and contemplate, but I found myself having to dodge the occasional ATV. Luckily for the drifting sands, the numerous tracks that were created were a but a temporary scar on the landscape. On the other hand, by honoring the polarity of all things, it was easy to find the beauty that had been carved into the dunes by the vehicles.

By mid morning, things had calmed down enough so that I was able to find a nice place to sit and relax after slogging up and down the dunes for more than an hour. Below are more photos of this beautiful place.

The Start of the Journey
I chose to route my trip over to Page, Arizona, through Monument Valley, Utah. It is a little bit longer and very much more picturesque than taking a more southerly route past the Four Corners Monument where you can stand in Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico all at the same time!
The image above is quite notorious and has shown up in publications, TV and various films over the years. It is the eastern approach to the valley. To get this shot one needs to stand in the middle of the road, being mindful of oncoming traffic. As you can see, there were not a lot of cars on the road that day. Whew!!!
If you look carefully, you can see orange signs and cones along the road on both sides. The road was being paved and painted. There is just one ideal place to pull off the road to get this shot, and the road crew had just created a very much widened shoulder to accommodate several cars safely.
On my way back home, I took the same route through Monument Valley, pulling over at the newly paved parking area. Four or five cars pulled over right behind me, and we all dashed onto the road to get our shots. What fun!

Back to Business
I took the past week off to hike some of the trails and slot canyons around Page Arizona. It was so nice to get a break from life as usual, which I highly recommend to everyone. We can get so used to the hectic pace of life that it becomes the norm and not the exception!
This trip was with a group of very nice people, mostly retired, although none of them were spiritual seekers. I was asked numerous times to describe what I do, and got used to seeing the confused looks on their faces as I tried to explain my occupation and spiritual outlook on life.
Also, looking back on all of the trips that I have taken, whether spiritually oriented or not, I was much more likely to encounter rude and entitled travelers on the spiritually oriented trips. That has always puzzled me. Why are the so called more aware people not as aware of their bad behavior? There was none of that on this trip, which made interactions with the other people on the whole very pleasant.
Those of us working our stuff and doing our best to progress spiritually and energetically often need a reminder that the vast majority of the human race does not live like that. In fact, very few do. Are we doing the heavy lifting for the rest of them? Are we a very tiny minority? Are there others working their path in secret, even from themselves?
I occasionally get a client who laments that they have no "spiritual" or like minded friends, and that causes them a sense of loneliness or not belonging. We cannot expect the people that we interact with to necessarily share our viewpoint on the world, but that does not mean that we cannot find common ground for friendship. Spiritual work can become a drag at times, too, and it is nice to get a break from that.
I will be sharing photos and as few insights from the trip in coming posts. More to come.

Aspen Glow
This week, the fall colors
are at their peak here in the mountains of southwest Colorado. Leaf peepers are everywhere! Today, I finally had a chance to go up
into the mountains to hike and enjoy the marvelous display that we are having
this year. I did not drive up to the area
where I usually pick mushrooms, but instead chose a spot north of the town of Mancos
in the La Plata Mountains, a totally different mountain range.
The trail is an old
dirt road that winds its way through aspen and blue spruce. It is now off limits to automobile traffic, but
is open to just about everything else. It
is a good thing that I got up early to start my hike, since, as the morning
wore on, the road became sporadically busier with people on motorcycles and ATV’s. There were a few other hikers and bicyclists,
but no horses today. Luckily, there was
much peace and quiet in between the passing vehicles, and most of that was on
the first part of the hike.
The weather was
partly cloudy, and what struck me the most was the golden fall glow of the
aspen leaves. They seemed to have a
special power of some sort, even appearing to glow from within. Even when the sun went behind the clouds,
they glowed just as strongly. What
a contrast they made to the dark bluish green of the spruce trees.
Every once in a
while, I would encounter a delightful surprise of a contrasting burst of red
from the leaves of a gambel’s oak or a mountain mahogany.
I like to hike to an
overlook that faces our local sacred mountain, Hesperus Peak. When I got there, I sat down to
watch the spectacle and meditate a bit. As
the sun danced with the clouds, the slopes leading up to the peak looked like they
were undulating with waves of pale yellow, gold, orange and dark green. It was a fascinating sight of color and movement. All of those nature spirits were certainly
having a good time today!
As most of you know,
I like to observe and commune with nature as a part of my spiritual path, and
today was no exception. I felt like I
was walking down Dorothy’s “Yellow Brick Road”!
What was the magic
of those golden aspen leaves, I asked? Why
is that color and vibration so captivating for people? Right away I knew that the beautiful golden
yellow color was activating my 5th dimensional heart core essence. Who could resist the natural expansion that
occurs in that kind of environment?

Serpent Rock
Whew!!! What a month this has been. It started out with the last “Tools for Transition” workshop that I did through Rise Multiversity on August 27th,
not to mention all of the mushroom hunting and trips up into the mountains
during August and early September. Then
we had our Labor Day Holiday here in the US.
Then preparing for and hosting a marvelous group of students learning the
Quantum Sphere Healing protocol last weekend.
I am so blessed when a group comes together so nicely as this one
did. That makes my teaching job so much
easier. We even had one student whose
glasses broke right on her face during the final healing journey. She was sitting quietly and felt a lot of
vibrating right before that happened.
After a one day
break to catch up, I spent 2 days with my friend Virginia and her research
group out in the canyonlands of SE Utah doing archeoastronomy work. The first day provided us with ideal weather,
but by the second day the weather had turned and now a cold front has passed
through bringing lots of early snow to the local mountains and cold and clammy
weather down here.
On Thursday night, I
had scheduled a shamanic fire ceremony here at my house in honor of the Vernal
Equinox. The day was extremely windy with gusts as high
as 40 miles per hour with more of that and big rain coming in later that
evening. I was looking at contingency
plans in case we couldn’t have the fire.
Miraculously, the skies totally cleared up and the wind totally died
down by the time we went outside around 7:30 PM. I call that “shaman magic”!!! I’ve never had to cancel a ceremony because
of bad weather. Several of us noticed a
portal that opened up above the group, and also the strong presence of various
star nations as we were around the fire.
In fact it was so nice outside that night that after the fire was
finished, we all sat on my lawn in the dark and enjoyed a superior view of the
brilliant stars and the Milky Way Galaxy overhead.
Getting back to my trip
to the canyons, the photo above is of one of the rock art panels that we
found. It is a good size, being about
1.5 by 3 feet. It was found just down the
road from the big monolith that we worked with during Summer Solstice and on
the back side of the hill with all of the other rock art. Clearly, this was a ceremonial center and
calling in the monsoon rains was a big part of that. The symbolism of the serpent is probably the most
common to all cultures on the planet. In
this case, I will venture to say that the aspect of the serpent energy that was
used here was that of the spirit of the clouds, and the thunder and lightning. A Snake
Dance may have been done to call in the monsoon rains around the time of the Summer Solstice. This was to guarantee the fertility of the
corn, beans and squash so that a bountiful harvest would ensue in the fall. The rock art that we were looking at on Tuesday
dates back to the Basketmaker III period of 500-750 AD, and very likely even further back to the Basketmaker II era.
Below is the
framework for a very old sweat lodge that we saw in a nearby area that we were
scouting out. Note the pile of rocks in the
foreground. This is not as old as the rock
art, and most likely dates to the contemporary Navajo or Ute tribes that passed
through this land.
So now I feel like I
can finally take a deep breath and get back to a more leisurely and
introspective pace of life. Time to
photograph the fall colors, as the aspen trees in the mountains are starting to
look good.

Tools for Transition Part 10 Ready for Purchase
Two weeks ago, I presented the final workshop in the "Tools for Transition" series entitled "Putting it All Together". It is available for purchase here.
In this workshop, I recapped the Inner Child work, and then went on to work with the very essential Inner Mother archetype. I have received a lot of positive feedback from this segment of the workshop, as unless one has a healthy and healed mother energy within, it can be very difficult to embrace and love oneself.
The next part of the workshop provided some strategies for recognizing and working through issues when they come up, followed by a very lively Q & A discussion period. What fun!
Most likely I will be doing a New Years workshop for Rise Multiversity in early January. Until then, my hope is that all of you will be making use of all of the "Tools" that I have taught during these workshops. No one can do that for you. I love the phrase "Make ready for what is to come." We do not know what that may be, but that does not mean that we can sit idly by and wait, either.
