The Grand Circle

It’s been a while since I posted, most recently because I have been out of town. It was nice to be able to get away, but oh so nice to be back!  This was a trip that I had booked for last September, but was cancelled because of the pandemic.  It got put back on the books for this fall, and I was happy to be able to re book.

The title of the trip was “The Best of Utah’s Grand Circle of Parks and Monuments”.  We visited all 5 of Utah’s national parks, called the “Mighty Five”, and several state parks in addition to other interesting places along the way.  The national parks were Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and Arches.  I had been to several of those parks already, and just one of the state parks we visited, but of course, one visit is not enough for these gorgeous places.

We had people from all over the US in our group, and everyone got along really well.  No acting up or acting out from fellow travelers as I have experienced in the past with some travel groups.  Our guides were local Cedar City friends of mine that I have traveled with before.  All was good!

Our trip started and ended in St. George, Utah.  Coincidentally, the Ironman 70.3 World Championship was taking place there a few days after we left.  Lots of people milling around town.  Below are 2 sides of the really nice metal sculpture that was placed in a roundabout just a few blocks from our hotel.

So the rest of these posts will be some text and lots of photos.  I will not be including all of the places we traveled to.  Just the most interesting and photogenic ones.  Enjoy!

On our first full day we hiked in Snow Canyon State Park, which is just north of St George.
