The Dark Side of Reiki

I have been having a back and forth e-mail exchange with a friend about the practice of Reiki and decided to sum up the whole discussion in this post.  Pardon me ahead of time if I offend anyone with my opinions on the subject.  I know that Reiki is near and dear to many, either as practitioners making a living with it or as teachers training others.  What I write is gleaned from 20 years of personal experience and also from information received from other sources.

About 20 years ago when I embarked on my healing career, I decided that becoming certified as a Reiki practitioner was a good first step.  I was trained in Reiki I and II in Evanston, Illinois, and I have to say that the whole process didn’t sit well with me right off the bat.  At first I just assumed that it was the strange instructor or the other people in the class, and ended up not using it much at all.  I had a certificate that I hung on the wall, so at least I had some sort of credential that showed I was a “healer”.

A few months after that, I attended my first class taught by Robert Jaffe of the Energy Mastery School of Sedona, Arizona (now defunct).  He is an extremely clairvoyant individual, and explained that the Reiki energy that is channeled into people actually has a light stream and a dark stream.  The original energy might have been all unified light, but at some point, someone tried to amplify it using a mirror, and the stream split into light and dark.  This may also be a metaphor for when the original energy came into the 4th dimension and became polarized.  He checked those who were Reiki practitioners to see if the dark stream had imbedded itself in them.  To do this, he clairvoyantly looked into their eyes, and if he saw a black lightning bolt there, they had it.  Well, I did, and I went through my own process to successfully remove the Reiki stream from my body while I was at the class.

Needless to say, I didn’t allow anyone to use Reiki on me after that.  There was an incident in Montana around 2001when a massage therapist used Reiki on me at the end of the session without telling me or getting my permission.  I was on my stomach, and I just knew what was happening as she channeled that energy.  I could feel the dark stream entering me.  Of course, I dumped it immediately.  Not getting permission has always been one of my complaints about the practice.

Fast forward to a few years ago when I started listening to George Kavassilas’ radio interviews.  He and his wife had taken a course from an aboriginal trained healer in Australia that involved tracking and removing any entities that were attached to a person’s energy field.  These entities could be picked up through several sources including genetically inherited, received through taking in addictive substances, or through participating in ceremonies or initiations from one of your past lives or inherited from an ancestor.  One man in the class even picked up an entity on a recent trip to John of God in Brazil.  George mentioned that he had been previously certified as a Reiki practitioner and that the Reiki entity was found and removed from him at the workshop.

At that point, I started offering a Reiki entity removal service to clients.  It was never hard to find the entity and remove it, but what surprised me was that I also could see the attunement symbols etched on the skin of the client’s Luminous Energy Field like tattoos or brands.  There were more of them than what I recall from my class in 1993.  So those were removed during the healing session, too.  In my book, those signify the markings of ownership.

Just a few weeks ago, a friend of mine said that he had been tracked by a person who was interested in finding the origin of the stream of energy that was coming in while my friend was giving Reiki to a client.  That stream was followed back to Saturn.  Now if you have been following George K, he says that the microcosm representation of the godhead (Yahweh) of the synthetic universe resides on Saturn.  I would surmise that all of the practitioners that use Reiki on people are acting as unwitting intermediaries for this being.  This is not a unique situation to Reiki.   Off planet beings often use unwitting (or very conscious) humans in this capacity. This may be the John of God situation, too.  John refers to the discarnate doctors that work through him as entities, although perhaps not in the same way that I am referring to them.

So there it is in a nutshell.  On the positive side, I know that many have derived great benefit from having Reiki treatments.  If the practitioner is channeling a stream that is of a higher vibration than the client, even with the polarity of the dark and light, the client will most likely benefit.  If the client is of a higher vibration than the Reiki stream, they will feel the dark part of the stream and may have a negative reaction.  If the practitioner has done their personal work, their Reiki channeling may be of a better quality than another practitioner, as it has to come through their own filters to the client.  As far as I can tell, there is no way for the practitioner to filter out the dark stream and only channel the light one.  This light stream is not even unified light.  It is the polarized opposite of the 4th dimensional dark.   I have also never seen the tattoos of the attunement symbols on a client who has had Reiki treatments but was not a practitioner.  These are clearly installed through the Reiki initiation process.

I am presenting this information as an aide to your awakening.  Take what resonates with you and put the rest on the back shelf for now.  As we become self realized and self actualized beings, this kind of information will be helpful.

  1. Thank you for speaking out about Reiki. I've always had issues with this mass marketed "sacred cow" of the New Age. As someone recently said to me "you can't swing a cat without hitting a Reiki Master". You can't do a weekend workshop and become a healer. The personal responsibility that comes with that is enormous. Being a healer is a vibration that takes years of purifying not %1500.

I have a close friend who has spent a great deal of time in the inner circles of John of God. Although there is great healing there she talks about the great darkness there too that few see. She won't go back.

  2. Thank you for posting this. It is very interesting to me to stumble across this post. I am only now catching up to the subtle ways in which we can be infected with off-kilter streams of energy.

When Reiki first 'came out' I was interested in taking it but put off at how expensive it was to get the different levels of training. If it was so great and so much for everyone, then why so exclusively priced? Plus, it seemed like a farce to be a 'Master' all of a sudden... I was reluctant to take the training and call myself a master when I knew I had a lot more to learn.

This article brings attention to me that I most certainly need an energy clearing from the countless Reiki sessions I've had - known and unknown over the years.

  3. I guess it would depend on how or what you were taught. My Reiki Masters taught me that Reiki was energy of Love and, because it was nothing more than Love, that it could harm none. It is really based on the intent of the offerer. If the person offering Reiki comes at it with an intention other than Love and healing for the recipient's highest healing good, then what you describe might be possible, however, in 12 years as a Reiki Practitioner/Master, what you describe has not been my experience or that of my clients.

  4. Thank you both for your comments. This is certainly is a topic that generates lots of feedback on both sides of the fence!

  5. Hello and thanx for the helpfull article! I would like to ask headache and depress effects after the first session of reiki can be caused of what you are saying that "If the client is of a higher vibration than the Reiki stream, they will feel the dark part of the stream and may have a negative reaction. "????

  6. This might be one explanation for your reaction.

  7. Hi Carla. Thank you for this post. It was most intriguing. Please could you let me know how you got rid of the dark Reiki stream and the 'tattoos'.

  8. Carla, do you offer services to remove reiki and its associated entities and symbols? If not, can you recommend someone reputable who does?

  9. Hello Angelica,
The reiki entity and symbols are automatically removed at the end of a Quantum Sphere Healing session, so certainly I can do what you are requesting. It is a very quick process at the very end.

  10. Thank you so much for your comment, Carla. Can we talk about this further? I am very interested in getting a healing session and removing the reiki, as it has knocked out my own innate psychic site to a great degree. I did not know you had another site, until I searched the Quantum Sphere Healing. Can I contact you through that email listed there?

  11. Certainly. E-mail me at quantumstargate@aol.com.

  12. Hi Carla, could you explain the difference between Reiki healing and Quantum Sphere healing...I see them as quite similar?

    ReplyDelete
  13. These two healing modalities are completely different. Too much to explain here. If you have ever had a QSH healing session with me, or taken the training, you would see that clearly.

  14. So Carla, Would you recommend someone new to learn and get attuned to reiki or not? the express purpose is to self heal and not commerce!

  15. Regardless of what you are using the reiki for, by getting attuned, you are getting hooked into the entity behind the reiki. Do you want to take that chance?

  16. I have a close friend who is much older than me. She practices reiki, or she used to. I'm much younger than her, 32, and she is in her late 60s. Her job requirements are no longer achievable with her lower strength/stamina... My job requirements ask of very little energy... I am more than willing to give her mine, is this possible?

  17. I do not recommend it. It is never wise to give someone else your energy.

  18. I was attuned for level 1 and 2. I had no idea I would have to contact spirits for this. I also am extemely uneasy with these sgns. When I was attuned the first time I did see a light and dark streak coming to me. I do not understand why if your de attuned that all reki changes are removed too. To me if your healed your healed how can you ytake it away? So that would mean that reiki is only temporary. As long as your attuned you stay healed if not its gone. I also had a severe red rash all over me that lasted for 4 weeks during the 21 day cleanse for levels 1 and 2. It was so itchy I went to emergency. My teacher said he never heard of anything like that before. I have never had rash issues before this. I am all for aiding the healing process but if I have to contact spirits and use symbols I think there is something not right. I sentAlot of time, money and energy on this for nothing. I will pray more and hope I am forgiven for going into the unknown for answers. And I do not want reki tatoos on me or around me. I also do not want to be tied to the other dimensions or spirit world. I love being a free spirit and a free human being. No cords or tatoos here thats just too messed up for me.

  19. How can you be sure that the quantum healing isn't from another entity?? One that's better hidden? Not saying it is, just wondering how one can tell Maybe all healing techniques are.

  20. Thank you for your posting, I found it very interesting to hear this. Being a Reiki Master & teacher of the USUI method of Reiki, I have never experienced a negative streak while delivering this energy. When i was taught, I was taught of the energy being of pure & Devine love and positivity. Intentions are everything when dealing with anything in life, Reiki included. Someone had even mentioned in your comments about “having to contact spirit energy” - I’m sorry this person has had to experience that, as I am not aware that that is supposed to be a prerequisite and I do not believe this is something that is normally (or should ever be part of the training) taught. I think the key to Reiki, is doing your own research - look at the reviews of the teacher, meet with them - ask questions and listen to your own intuition which we all have. A good Reiki Master/teacher will not charge you for their time in a consult, as money should never be the end result for a consult. I have only ever encountered a negative source once in my practice, which some one had brought with them. They left feeling much lighter & I was left to remove the energy from the location. Leaving only positive love and light. This is my personal experience with Reiki and I hope it can help you in some way. Sending you positive energy & many Blessings on your journey.

  22. How would one go about removing reiki attunements? In hindsight my "reiki master" wasn't a good person at all
    Thank you so much

  23. I remove the Reiki entity and the attunement symbols during a Quantum Sphere Healing session. That is just a small part of what is done during the session Easy to do!

  24. Hi Carla, I took Reiki I and II a while back though after seeing George K's videos I was hesitant to use it on anyone. Now before I even took Reiki classes I would feel energy coming out of my hands and was told by some Psychics that I had healing ability. So when I have done any healing recently on people and pets I don't use the Reiki symbols and wondering if it's the Reiki energy that's coming out of my hands or the energy that was there before if that makes any sense. Don't want to cause any harm to anyone or myself.

  25. Hi Rich--The only way to know for sure is to start dialoging with the energy, and let it tell you its story. Use your intuition and perceptions as to whether it is beneficial or harmful. Also, if your intent is to assist, you are probably OK with what you are sending through your hands.

  26. I practiced Reiki for ten plus years. My wife and I worked our way up to level 3 and became Master/Teachers. I went onto study Reiki Holy Fire. The whole time I thought to consult Scripture for validation this was NOT EVIL or DEMONIC . I realize now that you can always find a fragment of Scripture and twist it into whatever you want to support your beliefs. When I first “Attuned” to level 1 I did feel, different enough to go to a New Age Shop and get an Aura Photograph which shows energy emanating from plants or humans. I have attached that photo. It was explained that the light spots on my shoulders were “Angel Wings”. I was supposed to be flattered I guess. I was proud to show it off to prove I was on the right path. I am 70 years old and have been listening to Moody Radio Sermons alot and heard a series that changed my life and direction forever. It was on The Unseen World and Occult. After hearing them, I Googled (Is Reiki evil or occult?) After reading the article , I immediately gathered all things I had connected with Reiki, which amounted to over $700.00. Stones, books, grids, Reiki table , etc. I was so ashamed that we could be mislead so easily. I went to bed that night confessing my sin of searching for energy or power outside of God’s realm. I asked forgiveness and am in the process of repentance as I write this. I would like for anyone so inclined to share this cautionary tale with whomever they feel needs it. In closing, I have a new found definition of what is standing behind me in this Aura pic. And it is not an Angel. It is Satan welcoming me into deception. Upon looking closer, I see there is no way to attach a photo. So I will rely on the fact that you believe me. Occult can be defined as many things. Be careful not to be lead astray.By the way. I feel "FREE" now. Better and freer than practicing Reiki.

  27. Yes this resonates with me especially the dark stream part. People who have done reiki on me made me very physically sick and throwing up.
Is there any way to remove the reiki symbols from the etheric field ? Thank you

    1. You only have Reiki symbols in your energy field if you have trained in Reiki, not merely by having a Reiki session from a practitioner.

  28. Thank everyone for sharing their stories. I recognise problems with Reiki.
Since 3 or 4 months I practice Reiki. First I've been initiated foor Reiki 1. So far no problems. (except taking over energies from others sometimes)
    But!!
When Reiki 2 started I 've been initiated for some symbols. First ones worked very powerful!
But last thursday I recieved the last Reiki initiation from another person. It felt cold, very unpleasant, tension coming in the head. It really felt like a dark force.
I have a headache now for several days. So my plan is to stop competely with Reiki. I already said sorry to my own heart, for not depending/trusting on my own natural healing capacities. That helped. But how to remove more attunements and imprints from the aura ?

    1. As I am sure that I have mentioned previously, the Reiki attunement symbols and attachment to the Reiki entity is automatically removed by me during a Quantum Sphere Healing session. This is just a small part of the process, and very easy to do. In most cases, the client has other issues that are creating the negative Reiki symptoms, and that is addressed, too. Keep in mind that the Reiki energy stream comes through the practitioner, and if that person is not healed and clear, the client can pick up the practitioner's negative energy during a session. If any one is interested in booking a QSH session, contact me at quantumstargate@aol.com.

  29. In my experience, I could feel energy moving through me during reiki, but I now believe that I was being tricked. Not by the healer, though. I believe bad spirits were tricking both the healer and me. I think the same goes for psychics and mediums. They are telling the truth, and they are communicating with spirits. However, the spirits are bad, who can easily deceive us to lead us down a path that we would never want to go down. My road got very very dark; asking Jesus for help was what saved me.

  30. Look up menreiki. The original Japanese dates back to far before reiki was ‘discovered’ in the 1920s. The first character is actually ‘masked’ followed by mysterious energy.
